There are items that never go out of style, which year after year we never tire. Perhaps because they are childhood memories, or perhaps because they can make us glam in every occasion !
The coat check is one of them! We saw it ride the crest of the wave last winter, but it surely didn’t abandon our wardrobe after the change of season.
The check print, born as a grunge and really underground print overused in the suburbs of London, was contaminated with a whole street fashion and (finally) released from the imagination of the Scottish culture.

There are so many variants of check coat to choose between, from the classic red or green tartan, to much less obvious combinations as pink and red, purple and mustard or blue and white.

There are no particular rigors to wear the check coat! Consider that this is an item that attracts all eyes upon itself and that makes almost the 90% of the look. Simply, then, wear it with a basic look as jeans and t-shirt or skirt and turtleneck, with no further additions.
-if you really like to mix and match, combine it with a tartan dress with different shades for a british result.-

Even if the check print was born as a daily pattern, street style and runways was been able to tax it from this tedious diktat by opening a new frontier for elegance. In fact, the check coat, will be very elegant even if worn in the evening with a little black dress, a pair of heels and a clutch!
So, don’t spend any more time, let’s open the closet and recover that abandoned check coat to give it a new life!
